Comparison of Filtering Algorithms
نویسندگان
چکیده
To determine the performance of filtering algorithms a study was conducted in which eight groups filtered data supplied to them. The study aimed to determine the general performance of filters, the influence of point resolution on filtering and future research directions. To meet the objectives the filtered data was compared against reference data that was generated manually. In general the filters performed well in landscapes of low complexity. However, complex landscapes as can be found in city areas and discontinuities in the bare earth still pose challenges. Comparison of filtering at lower resolutions confirms that amongst other factors the method of filtering also has an impact on the success of filtering and hence on the choice of scanning resolution. It is suggested that future research be directed at heuristic classification of point-clouds (based on external data), quality reporting, and improving the efficiency of filter strategies.

Comprehensive Analysis of Dense Point Cloud Filtering Algorithm for Eliminating Non-Ground Features
Point cloud and LiDAR Filtering is removing non-ground features from digital surface model (DSM) and reaching the bare earth and DTM extraction. Various methods have been proposed by different researchers to distinguish between ground and non- ground in points cloud and LiDAR data. Most fully automated methods have a common disadvantage, and they are only effective for a particular type of surf...
متن کاملImproving the Performance of ICA Algorithm for fMRI Simulated Data Analysis Using Temporal and Spatial Filters in the Preprocessing Phase
Introduction: The accuracy of analyzing Functional MRI (fMRI) data is usually decreases in the presence of noise and artifact sources. A common solution in for analyzing fMRI data having high noise is to use suitable preprocessing methods with the aim of data denoising. Some effects of preprocessing methods on the parametric methods such as general linear model (GLM) have previously been evalua...

Persian juniper and Pistachio are grown in low density in the rangelands of North-East of Iran. These rangelands are populated by evergreen conifers, which are widespread and present at low-density and sparse shrub of pistachio in Iran, that are not only environmentally but also genetically essential as seed sources for pistachio improvement in orchards. Rangelands offer excellent opportunities...
متن کاملA Family of Selective Partial Update Affine Projection Adaptive Filtering Algorithms
In this paper we present a general formalism for the establishment of the family of selective partial update affine projection algorithms (SPU-APA). The SPU-APA, the SPU regularized APA (SPU-R-APA), the SPU partial rank algorithm (SPU-PRA), the SPU binormalized data reusing least mean squares (SPU-BNDR-LMS), and the SPU normalized LMS with orthogonal correction factors (SPU-NLMS-OCF) algorithms...

Background and Objective: Endometriosis is a prevalent disease in women which may lead to infertility or low fertility. Grasping the genetic grounds for the disease may contribute to its treatment because it is presumed that genetic factors predispose to endometriosis risk factors. Materials and Methods: 9 genes involved in endometriosis in patients suffering from endometriosis and also in ...
متن کاملEstimation of LOS Rates for Target Tracking Problems using EKF and UKF Algorithms- a Comparative Study
One of the most important problem in target tracking is Line Of Sight (LOS) rate estimation for using from PN (proportional navigation) guidance law. This paper deals on estimation of position and LOS rates of target with respect to the pursuer from available noisy RF seeker and tracker measurements. Due to many important for exact estimation on tracking problems must target position and Line O...
